How arduous the race?
Well, it’s about as interesting as watching Jean Chrétien’s snot dry. Generally speaking, the media are determined to cover the race, simply because it a political party’s leadership race. That’s not the part which bothers me.
The botheration oozes from the depth and breath of the coverage. The Tories and the Liberal have always benifitted from extensive coverage of their leadership races. It’s isn’t only that those two believe they, and only they, are entitled to govern, the media follows along and plays a happy tune and pipes them along into the House of Commons.
It’s a buncha clowns covering a buncha clowns!
