More on the clowns

So the race is over with Stéphane Dion winning the prized position of Head Clown. With the few months he has had, Dion has done absolutely nothing to increase the profile of the federal Liberals. This is quite fine with me. I want another minority government with either the Tories or Libs and the NDP holding the balance of power. We only seem to get progressive legislation with this scenario (or the very Machiavellian rollouts of fluffy stuff in the weeks and months before an election).
We are now days before an election call and Stephen Harper is handing out money like a pimply teeenager using his first paycheque trying to get laid for the first time. It is quite transparent, but the media seem not to be making a huge deal out of it. There was a splash but it was probably timed early enough in advance of an election call to not be a factor during a campaign.
