Philomena was born to parents Damian and Claudine Borges on October 6, 1935 in Karachi, in what was then Brit ish India. She grew up as the youngest of nine siblings and her passing marks the end of an era as she was the last survivor of the Borges Clan. She was predeceased by her brothers, Tony, Joe and Robert and by her sisters Ivy, Anc ie, Doris, Teresa, and Rita and by her husband who passed away in 1979. Philomena married Bonar (Bunto) Noronha in 1960 and they had one son, Brendon. She is survived by Brendon (Sharon) and two grandchildren Tristen and Keira. A viewing will be held at Highland Funeral Homes (3280 Sheppard Avenue East) on Sunday, January 5 between 3pm to 7pm. The Funeral Mass will be held the next day, Monday, January 6 at 11am at St Aidan’s Catholic Church at 3501 Finch Avenue East. In line with her wishes, Philomena will be cremated at a later date in a service attended by the immediate family and she will be finally reunited with her husband Bunto at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Richmond Hil l. {Info: Pompie Gois]
