Main responsibilities

The Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC) will ensure the people of Haiti and
international donors can be confident that the recovery makes appropriate use of the
generous support that is being provided. A critical part of this is to ensure that the funds
are deployed transparently and without diversion due to incompetence, corruption or
misdirection, and to promote performance and best practices within IHRC and all
recovery projects. So, to prevent corruption and maximize transparency and performance,

IHRC DIRECTOR OF STRATEGY AND PLANNING IHRC mission

The mission of the IHRC is to seek the coordinated, effective and efficient planning and implementation of priorities, plans and projects in support of Haiti’s recovery and development in the wake of the 12 January 2010 earthquake.

Main responsibilities The Director of Strategy and Planning reports directly to the Executive Director. She or he is responsible for refining the master plan and, where relevant, sector plans; monitoring the recovery progress against the plans, and refining and adjusting plans in response to the assessment of progress; assisting with project approvals and in the debottlenecking of projects on sector specific issues; supervising the Strategy and Planning team; and supporting the Executive Director as needed to develop and implement recovery strategies. The IHRC is an adaptive organization that is evolving as Haiti’s recovery needs develop. As a consequence, the role and responsibilities of the Director of Strategy and Planning will likely evolve along with Haiti’s recovery needs, strategy and progress, as well as with the IHRC’s strategy.
